In 1983, the United Nations established the Brundtland Commission to investigate "the accelerating deterioration of the human environment and natural resources and the consequences of that deterioration for economic and social development." The Commission's work was formally undertaken by the World Commission on Environment and Development (WCED). According to the Commission, sustainable development "meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."
Society now expects companies and organisations to report on their commitment to operate their business in a sustainable manner and to publish their performance against set targets.
According to King III, a company that regards itself as a good corporate citizen has to produce an annual integrated report and "convey adequate information regarding the company's financial and sustainability performance." (Recommended Practice: 9.1.4.)
We collaborate with our clients to fully integrate sustainability into their business practices and assist them in communicating their performance in a well crafted and credible sustainability report.
